This photographic series began in early 2020 through the documentation and abstraction of my self-care routines within my bedroom. Over time, the focus of the images shifted: I spent less time photographing the interior space and more time looking out from these spaces. I began photographing windows and their reflections and shadows obsessively, treating them as central subjects.
The series reflects a heightened fixation on the window as both barrier and threshold. This focus brought to mind the so-called “2000-year-old space problem”: the ongoing challenge of representing indoors and outdoors, the window as a simultaneously functional object and as a recurring pictorial motif. The work explores how domestic space mediates presence and absence, confinement and connection, particularly during periods of intensified interior living.
