Traces of Interaction (2023) functioned as the third iteration and a reflective culmination of my MAFA exhibition series. The exhibition brought together works from the two previous iterations, alongside reactionary pieces and artworks translated into different media. It also included documentary photographs capturing participants’ interactions during Iteration I and Iteration II.
The display featured works at various stages of development, foregrounding process as an active and visible component of the exhibition.
This iteration examined how meaning shifts through repetition, translation, and adaptation. By reworking elements of earlier pieces into new media, I explored how audiences respond to change and how prior interactions continue to inform the work’s evolution. These material translations often retained traces of their making—marks, residues, and surface irregularities—embedding evidence of past processes within new forms. The exhibition became a space of reflection, where documentation, transformation, and display intersected, emphasising the cumulative and relational nature of the practice.
