Artefacts

In my exhibitions, I presented audience members with pieces of wax. I noticed them forming micro-narratives through assemblage, combining the materials in small, intimate ways. Wanting to preserve these interactions, I shaped the wax into new forms, enclosing the various materials inside. The bronze objects, or Artefacts, carry traces of these initial narratives while also bearing the marks of my hands and the surfaces they conformed to, including subtle handprints.

In the second exhibition, these bronze objects were displayed alongside thinner sheets of wax. To my surprise, some audience members began using the bronze objects to cut and manipulate the wax sheets themselves, creating a poetic moment of iteration and extending the life of the work through collaborative interaction.
