Depicting things

Depicting Things is an installation of printed pinhole photographs mounted on light boxes. I arranged the images to form an intricate network of distorted visuals. Each photograph was exposed on “traumatised” photo paper—scratched, bitten, folded, torn, and pinched—so that the surface itself, tasked with depicting a scene, presents reality in a garbled and confusing way.

For me, this process becomes a metaphor for the complex relationships between objects, bodies, and violent memories, where the materiality of the paper mirrors the fractured and layered nature of experience.
